Bas-Relief by Prada

June 29, 2009

The sculptural technique of bas-relief has existed in all civilizations and is the contemporary inspiration for Prada’s Spring/Summer 2009 ad campaign.  The sequence of models, so similar in appearance, mimics the ancient scenes of everyday life that were carved into stone from Egypt to Europe.  Constructed around the building blocks of women’s lingerie, the fashions were executed in a restrained palate of metallic cottons.
