Salvatore Ferragamo | Milan Fashion Week | Spring 2010
October 1, 2009
Salvatore Ferragamo designer Cristina Ortiz has gotten a bad rap. The designer, whose fall 2008 ready to wear collection met with unimaginative reviews, will be replaced by Massimiliano Giornetti at the fashion house. Yet, before her departure Ortiz was tasked with completing the spring 2010 collection.
Her sophisticated final collection was executed primarily in a brooding palate of blacks, browns, and whites. Thickly slung skirts coupled with delicately cut shirts, and jacquard trenches worn over white snake skin skirts emitted an edgy sophistication that fashionista’s will continue to lust for long after Cristina Ortiz and Salvatore Ferragamo have parted ways.
