Powerful Object Presence | Designer Darryl Carter at Home

October 11, 2009

Expansive chalk white walls and powerful juxtapositions between individual decorative pieces characterize the Washington D.C. townhouse of decorator and furniture designer Darryl Carter.  Carter contrasts his home’s flat neutral palette with demanding decorative elements possessing subtle texture, like antique wood grain and natural stone.  “Everything here is getting sparer and sparer, and the juxtapositions are becoming increasingly confident.”  Darryl Carter
