Post Liminal Rites of Incorporation Gonzalo Lebrija

September 7, 2010

Much like Gonzalo Lebrija’s photograph, Entre La Vida y La Muerte (Between Life and Death) which captures the moment an American muscle car kisses the surface of a dessert lake after being dropped by an above-camera crane, liminality is a state of such intensity that it cannot exist without a stabilizing structure.  All liminality must eventually dissolve but always leaves the residue of transformation.
