Wang Qingsong’s large-scale color photographs satirize the cultural clash between traditional Chinese culture and the influx of Western consumerism.  Monumental sets staged with hundreds of models surrounded by symbols of brands and commerce offer an acerbic critique of China’s new material wealth and rapidly growing consumer culture.
