Hiding in the City | Liu Bolin

May 24, 2011

Using his own body as an art material, Beijing-based artist Liu Bolin, has become known as the “invisible man” because he surreally blends into backgrounds.  Mr. Bolin’s, whose entire body of work is about disappearance, dislocation and anonymity describes his work as a commentary on his place in society.

“Some people call me the invisible man, but for me it’s what is not seen in a picture which is really what tells the story.”
