Sonya Blesofsky

June 13, 2011

The destruction, excavation and re-construction of New York’s cityscape directly inspires the fragile temporary works of artist Sonya Blesofsky.  Employing easily recognized materials and allowing construction flaws to remain visible, Belsofsky recreates the banal landmarks that punctuate our personal and collective experience of an urban space and exposes the tension between stability and decay.
