Rotting hulks created from abject detritus, organic waste, horse hair, blood, dust, and intestines simultaneously resemble the charred ruins found in the aftermath of a violent force, and a prehistoric archeological find pulled from the earth.  Buggenhout blurs the relationship between representation and abstraction, materializing refuse to the point of pity.
